Title: Ongoing Enterprise reviews
Description: Seen an episode lately?
dopplganger - March 2, 2006 09:03 PM (GMT)
I thought it would be nice to have an ongoing thread where we could review Enterprise episodes. They have been running in Canada on the space channel 5 nights a week and I have been trying to catch a couple every week. I am continually amazed at how much better some of the episodes are than I remember them. Particularly some of the ones from the first and second seasons. I guess I have been reading too many basher posts on startrek.com. :o

So last night I watched Two Days and Two nights.
link The one where they go on shore leave on Risa. Very enjoyable episode. Not a lot of depth but lots of interaction between Tripp and Reed. That is the one where they get robbed by two aliens pretending to be women. Hoshi gets a little action :brow: , even Maywether gets some screen time. And plox is hysterical. He tries to hypernate for two days but has to be awakened to tend to maywether and is bumbling around half asleep. And Archer? In civies? Nice tight t-shirts? what could be wrong with that?

The other day I had a few hours in between college and work so I watched "
Minefield".
The Enterprise stumbles onto a cloaked Romulan minefield and some serious damage is done to the ship. The explosion here is just awesome, looks great, I always love how you can see inside the ship. And then Reed faces death after a mine lodged onto the ship attatches itself to the ship through his leg. Very good episode for both action and character development here. (At the start Trip doesn't even care that England got to the World Cup finals. Although this is 2152 and there won't be a World Cup in 2152 :panic:  ). The conversation between Reed and Archer is pretty well done and in the end even Reed prefers Archers stlye of compassionate command is better than his idea of what a commander should be like.

Men.
Morgan reminded me that world cup is starting shortly after hockey ends. I may be spending a lot of time on the boards.
As I typed that I realized how silly it was. It would be challenging to spend any more time here. _lmao_
Lus - May 3, 2006 10:12 PM (GMT)
 I'm sure if you go without sleep you could just about manage it Wissa!
The World Cup matches are the only Football matches I watch!

This seems to have turned into a soccer hotties thread. _lmao_ I tried to load some pics of mr. wissaboo in his soccer uni but imageshack isn't co-operating. I will try again later.
Mad Irish Man - May 4, 2006 08:07 PM (GMT)
One small comment and the whole thread is derailed.
Sorry Wissa haven't heard of a Josh Simpson.
But while we are talking about the World Cup I believe it will be a Brazil Argentina final and Argentina will win.

He's from victoria. I used to do his hair.
He's gone a long way for a canadian soccer player.
Rachel - May 5, 2006 03:03 PM (GMT)
:bigcry: Jadz and I are having our first fight... and it's over David Beckham
Morgan
And, yes Wissa you're right. It's very hard for Canadian footballers to make it anywhere near the English Premier League. BTW, I believe Canadian NBA superstar, Steve Nash's brother also played for a UK club. 2nd div I think.

Yeah there are a few American players playing in the English league but to hear of a Canadian is rare.
He seems to be playing plenty of games and if he is lucky he will either stay with Millwall and they will get promoted next season or he will move to a better club, lol.
AWOLangel - June 14, 2006 07:32 PM (GMT)
i haven't seen an episode in a while
but i've been thinking about
this reciently. i don't know if anyone's
brought it up before.
did anyone notice that
dawnwas similiar to the movie
enemy mine?
which was similar to the movie
hell in the pacificthe theme running through all of them
is 2 men that are enemies
are forced to work together
when stranded in a remote,
desolate place
wissaboo - June 14, 2006 07:36 PM (GMT)
I havn't seen either of those movies but the description sounds familiar. There is a literary theory that there is only a handfull of stories ingrained in our psyche and we just keep telling them over and over again.
captain_matthais - June 21, 2006 05:01 PM (GMT)
I'm here everyone. LOUD AND PROUD!!!!!!!

Or Han Solo and Princess Leia from THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK perhaps?
I watched "Divergence" (ENT) the other day, the second in the Season Four 2-part Klingon storyline that explains the lack of forehead ridges in the original series. Was very good, especially ol' Scott going mental in the chair at the end, and growing his own ridges! Hee hee! Looked very menacing and quite scary (but still hot) and it was a good performance from him in the episode. I also love the beginning where Trip is transferred from Columbia to Enterprise via the tether at Warp Five... a spectacular and amazing sequence! And to wrap it all up, great music and a cool space battle at the end!
I'd say 9 out of 10 (minus one point for continuity errors with Trip's uniform and spacesuit).
wissaboo - April 17, 2007 06:56 PM (GMT)
that was a good episode.
and archer did look hot with ridges.
Lus - November 6, 2007 09:27 PM (GMT)
Watched "Unexpected" last night, you know the one that starts off by showing Archer in the shower.
I really enjoy this episode, it's one of my favourites. There's a few funny lines in it too, like when the Klingons are on the holodeck and one of them says "I can see my house!" Classic!
I know the whole inter-species relationship thing has been done a lot on Trek but this one brought a more humourous tone to it and added an unexpected twist. Connor acting Pregnant was great, the cravings, the safety consciousness, the civie clothes & of course those nipples! :liz:
All in all a great episode in my opinion. :)
Oh and I recommend this episode to Jenna, it might give you an insight to what to expect in a month or two. :allteeth:
wissaboo - November 6, 2007 09:35 PM (GMT)
that was my favourite line in all of enterprise.
fav bum too :nude:
Lus - November 6, 2007 09:37 PM (GMT)
 Thought I'd get your attention by mentioning Archer in the shower.
